Review :

Finished reading Broken Dove on midnight January 1st was like New Year gift (yes, I spent my New Year eve on home, babysit my baby nephew, haha lucky me I have Broken Dove to accompany me). And after couple of disappointment, finally Kristen Ashley back to the game. Bow for you Ms. Ashley. Proudly present : 5 freaking stars!!!!!!

Love love love love the book. Superb storyline, amazing characters, epic romance, and HOT HOT HOT scenes, also must be said : wonderful epilogue, just like Ms. Ashley signature, queen of Epi.

KA bring her greatness again with the fourth installment of Fantasyland series. Please noted that you recommended to read the previous books, as all of the h/H of the series made appearance, and it would give the reader deep insight to our H/h and all secondary characters.

Won’t get much to the story. But it was about two parallel universe, where you could found your identical self in the other world. As we could found the same faces in other world, our Hero, Apollo (Lo), after years of grieving for his wife, Ilsa, was asking (well paying actually) a witch, Valentine, to bring Ilsa from the other world (latter on Ilsa from modern world called herself Maddy). It was story of how the couple overcome the hurdles, how Lo treating Maddy and redeem himself to win her love and trust, how to work it out with his two children, how Maddy adapt to the new world and found herself then put the pieces together after broken by abusive husband for years, and also how they will fighting the enemy and win the war.

In this amazing story you could found the suspense, the action where sword, arrow, and pistol involve, the scenes where blood splattered, the queen-princess-and prince with their castle, do not forget the dragon and fairy, also the witches with their magic spell. Adding with spice of hot romance.
When I written hot, I mean HOT. Ms. Ashley always known for her sizzling romance, even she write under erotica by her Unfinished Hero series. But this book way out in sensuality. The bed scenes were panty melting, body squirming, and self fanning. Yes, prepare a fan and ice for the ride.

“I tell you now, my poppy, for years, I never thought I would again be happy. Never again.” He tucked me closer and finished on a rough whisper. “So I never imagined I could be happier.” – Lo

“So this is what it feels like not to be broken.” – Maddy

My Teaser :

“This is important to me,” I whispered.

“And it’s important to me to be with the woman I love, the woman with
whom I intend to have a family, and do that without the possibility of her
getting riddled with bullets or comin’ back from getting ice cream with the
kids and finding our home has been leveled.”

15752757 The teaser is from Rock Chick Revolution, 8th installment of Rock Chick series written by Kristen Ashley.

As few peoples knew that I was/is/always be addicted to the amazing Kristen Ashley, this is the second time I  re-read this book after it published on August 13th 2013.

Being the last book in the series I was bit (liar, more than a bit actually) sad when I read this book. Definitely crying. It was like saying goodbye to our beloved friends.

Well, just let me share that the Heroine, Ally Nightingale, and the hero, Ren Zano. were not the standard contemporary romance where the badass is the hero. In this awesome story, Ally was the badass of the good side – daughter and sister of a cop, and Ren was a businessman who handle the legitimate side of his Shady Business Big Family (just call it simply MAFIA).

Read it , Enjoy it, Love it, and ROCK ON!!!!

Nora Roberts Reading Challange : Holding The Dream

114188Judul : Holding The Dream (Dream Trilogy, #2)
Pengarang : Nora Roberts
Format : Mass Market Paperback
Genre : Contemporary Romance
Bahasa : Inggris

Review :

Akhirnya setelah hiatus dari reading challange Nora Roberts/J.D Robb milik Ren, hari ini aku hatam baca satu bukunya Tante Nora.

First, buku ini ke-dua kalinya aku baca . Pertama baca waktu jaman SMA dulu edisi bahasa Indonesia, dan berhubung lupa my first impression of this book, kecuali bahwa aku suka banget sama trilogy dream ini.

Me-map-ing segala detail masa depannya. No emotion. She only trust the fact, the number, the order.

She’s taken life seriously. Too seriously.

Oke, so my rambling thought abou this one are :

  1. I want to smack the heroine head, wracking her brain and shouting at her. Ada cowo sempurna, idaman tiap hawa, ganteng, pintar, kaya, charming, gentleman, baik hati, pekerja keras, pokoknya mah TOP, eh si Kate malah bersikap seakan-akan hidupnya yang tertata rapih diporakporanda. Ngeluh lagi kalau dia ga suka di-handle sama cowo. Diperhatiin ketus, dibilang cinta panik, bicara pernikahan ngamuk ga karuan. Stress tuh cewe.
  2. Kalo aku jadi si Bryon, ditinggal aja deh si Kate, let her sit in her sorry as*
  3. Mana epilogue-nya Tante Nora…. kaga ada epi-nya sama sekali, ga nendang deh.
  4. After all the heroine defect(s), kudos for Aunt Nora writing skill. Smooth. Deskripsi yang pas, cukup untuk menghadirkan imaji bagi para pembaca tanpa terlalu terpaku pada detail yang tak perlu. Karakterisasi yang kuat dan well just awesome.

Well this is my rambling thoughts. Maaf karena ngaco reviewnya. Bahasa campur-campur. Buku dalam bahasa inggris, review dalam indonesia campur2.

*Next to the third installment*

Fire Inside By Kristen Ashley

Fire Inside (Chaos #2)

By : Kristen Ashley

Lanie Heron isn’t looking for love—no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club…

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She’s too polished and too classy for his tastes. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can’t say no. And he doesn’t regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that’s ever happened to him—in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

Review :

First, let me said that I was thrilled when knew that KA put Lanie and Hop as the next couple in the Chaos series. Hop, whose described as cheater (yeah totally my big no) and Lanie, whom messed up from her dead fiancee, was going to be an unit. Wow, I knew then KA would blow me away with their story.

So, did KA? Honesty this book left me with such disappointment. As KA’s addict through and thorough, I pledge myself to read and gushing for all her works. And I did. Enjoyed them all. Okay, maybe not for Mathilda.

Disappointment was harsh, but it’s true. I wish so much more of this book when NetGalley approved my request to read the ARC. I prepared to be blown away. To shed a tear. To laugh out loud. To immersed in the drama.

And in the end there’s no tear, no laugh, no drama, no KA’s sign. It wasn’t KA (Well, there’s tears. Crying for why this book didn’t satisfied me)

Okay, that being said. This book was good (but again not KA’s good). For contemporary romance, I enjoy this book. Worth repeated : this book was good.

Hop and Lanie were interesting characters, and with their flaws, perfect for each other. The prologue was captivating and keep the reader to the next pages. Hotness level as usual unquestionable. MC’s bunch deserve medal for it and Lanie, hold herself among them.

Sadly, there’s no peak here. With quite great epilogue (KA is still win the queen of epilogue for sure) I hope for an action before it. Alas, there’s no gun blazing or kidnapping.

Still, with no glowing review, next KA’s installment always will put in in auto buy list. Still addicted to her works. Still a fan.

Apologized for the unappropriated review. It was dedicated for KA’s reader.

Beth Kery : Because You Are Mine – Big Giveaway

Hello fellas,

In this post, I will introduce you to one of erotica romance author : Beth Kery (pseudonym Bethany Kane). One of her book that quite made impression in me is Wicked Burn.

She will publish her new series Because You Are Mine, consist of 8 books, starting 31st July and the last part will publish in September 18 (wow, such a long and demanding project…). This book contain BDSM theme, and though I’m not really a fan those thing, but I like her writing style. When I read Wicked Burn I got myself so emotionally involved with the characters.

The premise is almost similar  with 50 shades (so if you a fan of 50, you must’ve like this one).  An innocent ordinary girl fall in love with sexy and handsome billionaire. Yup, never get old with those kind storyline, always love it, always adore it.

Beth Kery also make a huge because you are mine contest, with grand prize : Kindle Fire. Made sure you click the link below to participate.

Click This : Enter the Huge Because You Are Mine contest!!!!

It starts with that first look, when you know you have to have him…

Francesca Arno has been commissioned to create a grand centerpiece painting for the lobby of Ian Noble’s new skyscraper. It’s at a cocktail party in her honor that she first meets him—and the attraction is immediate for Francesca. It’s also bewildering. She’s not used to such a wholesale sexual response to a stranger. Enigmatic, darkly intense, with a commanding presence, Ian completely unnerves her. And she likes it.

For Ian, she’s the kind of woman he can’t resist—one that comes all too rarely: a true innocent. But he can sense in her a desire to open up, to experiment, to give herself to the fantasies of a man in control. The first kiss, the first caress, the first challenge for a woman who craves what she’s never had—a man who gets what he wants

My Fave Author : Linda Howard

Linda S. Howington born on August 3, 1950 in Alabama, United States. She is an American best-selling romance/suspense author under her pseudonym Linda Howard. Her first work was published by Silhouette in 1982. She is a charter member of Romance Writers of America, joining in 1981 shortly after it was formed. Her husband is a professional bass tournament fisherman, and she travels with him to some very unglamorous locations where she works on her laptop. Linda and her husband live in a big house on a farm in Alabama, where they raise cattle and have two dogs. Biography from Wikipedia

I’m big fan of Ms.Howard. Though I wouldn’t said that I loved all her books, some earlier works wasn’t as great as her newer works, but I almost read it all (I haven’t read 3 of her paranormal genre books). I didn’t remember exactly my first encounter with her’s but it was quite a long time ago, maybe since I was in high school. Some Howard books has been translated into my mother language, Indonesia, so she was quite popular here, and I already liked her works back then. Few months ago I’ve finished my Linda Howard Monthly Challenge. I read all her romance book – exclude the paranormal one – and I officially became her fan. I read her books randomly – it was hard to read her books based on publication order because some title was hard to find.

I started with her series, and then her single novels. From her series, MacKenzie Family and Blair Mallory are my favorite. Most people like her MacKenzie series – all of it have amazing story and wonderful character. An overachieving family members, loving parents, caring siblings, adorable grandchildren, and do not forget an alpha-male character (well, all Howard hero is an alpha). Blair Mallory series (To Die For and Drop Dead Gorgeous) had different narration, the books was told by first person POV, her heroine herself, and it was very funny and personable. However the story and suspense element not as great as her other books.

From her single novels, I found myself deeply adore Sam and Jaine from Mr. Perfect. I think it was by far the most popular (with 4.05 avg rating and 6,398 reader with 25 editions – Goodreads). With solid suspense and mystery also humorous romance of the H/h relationship, the book was amazing. Other books I liked the most is Cry No More . Like the title, I was crying read that one. It’s an intense, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, emotional roller coaster ride that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading it (I planned to put it in review – next post I hope). Another book that come under my fave shelves of Ms.Howard are Death Angel and Open Season. Death Angel pretty special to me because it was odd and bizarre (not in the ugly way) but definitely exceptional. Why odd? Unwritten law of romance is “good” H/h, but here you found the bad guy and the bad girl as hero and heroine. Ms. Howard write this one against romance norm and venture to the grey areas. While Open Season, though it had familiar premise and there was so much potential for stereotyping in this story, but Ms. Howard handled the story with charm and skill, making it delightful and gratifying to read. Open Season totally hilarious, made me grinning like a fool while reading it.

Linda Howard is an amazing writer. Her romantic suspense is different to many other authors’ work. It is slow-building, setting up characters and locations before the suspense plot arrives on the scene. She could engage reader emotionally and personally. Her books blend another sub-genres in the mix, weaved all of it together expertly. Nevertheless, there’s always up and down. Like I said, her earlier books isn’t as wonderful as I expected. Her three first books, All That Glitters (1982), An Independent Wife (1982), and Against the Rules (1983) almost turn into my DNF list. Her newer books (Burn – 2009, Ice – 2010, Veil of Night – 2010, Prey – 2011) also not as strong as she used to. From what I read in some forum, they said Ms.Howard was struggling with her health, that’s why her story quality lessened and she haven’t published any new book. I really hope Ms. Howard would be back with her fabulous writing skill and bring us an amazing book. Finger cross!!
