Friday’s Recommendation #5

Happy Friday Romancelanders….

Yay, like usual, every Friday I’m gonna pick a book for Friday’s Recommendation, a Meme held by Ren’s Little Corner. I would love to recommended a book from one of my favorite paranormal romance author, Christine Feehan.

Shadow Game (GhostWalkers, #1)

Shadow Game (GhostWalkers #1)

By : Christine Feehan

The classified experiment is the brainchild of renowned scientist Peter Whitney and his brilliant daughter, Lily. Created to enhance the psychic abilities of an elite squadron, it can transform their natural mental powers into a unique military weapon. But something goes wrong. In the isolated underground labs, the men have been dying-victims of bizarre accidents. Captain Ryland Miller knows he is next. When Dr. Whitney himself is murdered, Ryland has only one person left to trust: the beautiful Lily. Possessed of an uncanny sixth sense herself, Lily shares Ryland’s every new fear, every betrayal, every growing suspicion, and every passionate beat of the heart. Together, they will be drawn deeper into the labyrinth of her father’s past and closer to a secret that someone would kill to keep hidden.

I love Christine Feehan, she’s a great writer who create amazing imaginary world of paranormal realm. This series – The GhostWalkers – not as famous as her Dark series, but I prefer this one because this series fall under science fiction genre. Yup, this paranormal romance book, also have science theme, with great suspense and off course enough sensuality to make you squirm in your seat 😀

Ryland….He is my perfect hero: alpha man, with protective streak but not too overbearing, and not afraid to love the heroine. Once he find the right woman, there’s no turning back. Simply droolworthy.

The plot was one reason I love this book. The science background make it close to reality. I loved all the scientific “mumbo jumbo” even though I couldn’t understand all of it. The suspense/action elements are easily as strong as the romance, and it satisfied me fully.

Christine Feehan books definitely weren’t a quick read.  It was little a little slow in the beginning, she tend to dragged the reader by her very descriptive words. But it could immerse me deep in the story.

Jane Jameson HEA : Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors by Molly Harper

Nice Girls Don't Bite Their Neighbors (Jane Jameson, #4)

Nice Girl Don’t Bite Their Neighbors (Jane Jameson #4)

Author : Molly Harper

Pages : 337

Published : February 28th 2012

Just as Jane Jameson’s unlife seems to be stabilizing, fate sinks its fangs firmly into her butt. Despite her near-phobia of all things marital, her no-frills nighttime nuptials to her sexy boyfriend Gabriel are coming along smoothly. But the road to wedded bliss gets bumpy when a teenage acquaintance is fatally wounded in front of Jane’s shop and she turns him to save his life. The Council pronounces Jane responsible for the newborn vamp until he can control his thirst.

Jane’s kitchen at River Oaks barely holds enough Faux Type O to satiate the cute teen’s appetite and maintain Gabriel’s jealous streak at a slow simmer. As if keeping her hyperactive childe from sucking the blood out of the entire neighborhood isn’t enough to deal with, the persnickety ghost of Jane’s newly deceased Grandma Ruthie has declared a war on the fanged residents of River Oaks. Suddenly,
choosing monogrammed cocktail napkins and a cake that she can’t eat seems downright relaxing in comparison.

Tensions inside the house are growing…and outside, a sinister force is aiming a stake straight for the center of Gabriel’s heart. Most brides just have to worry about choosing the right dress, but Jane fears that at this rate, she’ll never make it down the aisle for the wedding all nice girls dream of…

Review :

I enjoyed this book a lot. Though I haven’t read the previous book I still keep it up with the , no problem whatsoever. But would I read the previous book? Humm,,,if I got free gift I would love to read the rest of the books, but if none – well just suck it up. Not really curious though, I’ve got their HEA

It’s about Jane and Gabriel, who finally getting married (yay, after he propose all over again Jane say YES). The big problem were
1. Jane accidentally have a childe, she became a sire… to gorgeous teenage boy (not really boy, almost a man)
2. Yup, another murder attempt.
3. Grandma Ruthie died and her ghost stayed at Jane house (Jane and Gabriel – they living together now) – which made Jane life a living hell.
4. Jamie – the new vampire – transformation made him disown by his parents, and her parents made Jane life a living hell. again.
5. Okayyy,, wedding preparation. It was definitely hell. And Jane’s mother involvement made it worse.

This book was my first of Molly Harper and like I said, I enjoyed it a lot. It was a nice read, lots of fun, quite hilarious. But sadly the hotness not off the chart, in fact I categorized it as moderate romance. Maybe because it was the fourth installment, and the couple had settling down and the sexual tension has cooling down. I used to read the steamy romance lately, and this book felt too clean (huh, I guess I’ve my brain washed by all the naughty stories).

Overall it was a nice and quite a quick read.

4- stars(maybe close to 3.80 stars)

Why this book?

Yang menarik dalam dunia IAD-nya KC adalah “the dark side” of the hero. Well, judul serinya saja immortals after dark, jadi wajarlah kalau para hero-hero yang diciptakan KC memiliki sisi kegelapan yang cukup kelam.

Well, finger cross, moga aja menang….

Well, bagaimana dengan kalian. Apa Wishful Wednesday -mu?

“Yours, everything I am…yours.”

Water Bound by Christine Feehan

Off the shores of Sea Haven, a beautiful diver rescues a man from drowning, a man with no memory of who he is-or why he seems to possess the violent instincts of a trained killer. But soon, he and his savior will be engulfed in a storm of dizzying passion and inescapable danger…

Review :

I’ve known Christine Feehan’s books for quite sometimes but never have any motivation to pick one. Despite how popular her Carpathians are, they didn’t interest me. I’ve got this book by bargain price and I thought “well, let’s try it”. I didn’t have any expectation whatsoever. But after I finished read this book, I immediately put CH in my next author to looking forward.

This book was great. What made it so good wasn’t the storyline (though it was good as well) but the character, specially the heroine. I found her uniqueness was something extraordinary in romance novel. Rikki was a high functioning autism. She was sea urchin diver. She was remarkable woman. Met Lev. The ruthless assassin with only survival instinct to live on. A Man who never felt any emotion toward anyone. This book was about them. About how Lev accepted his feeling for Rikki, and how Rikki adjusted her orderly life for the man she loved.

What I didn’t like? There was suspense theme in this book. A man who tried to killed Rikki and another killer whose job was to “cleans up” Lev. But I felt it was so abruptly solved. Little weird for a suspense reader like me. Another problem was the flowery word which was too much and should CH made it more simple I think the book would be shorter (I found myself skip lot of sentences).

Overall this book worth to read. I enjoyed it a lot. I loved the romance between the Rikki and Lev. And I adored Rikki with all her quirkiness.

Lover Awakened : My Fave Hero

But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her.

My Review :

5++++++++++++++++++++++++ stars
This is the third book of BDB (Black Dagger Brotherhood) series by J.R.Ward/Jessica Bird. Why I put this one before I posted the previous two (Dark Lover and Lover Eternal)? Other books was also had great story, but the Hero of this book, Zsadist, was my fave hero among the brotherhood hero. That’s why.

I loved how Ward projected Zsadist. She made reader get emotionally involve with his character. I felt his bitterness and anger, even simultaneously I knew there’s fear in him. With all the darkness in his soul, existence of love become more intense, raging, and enormous. Thankfully, Ward also created wonderful heroine. Bella matched him. Refine his edge. Soothe his.

The book was amazingly good. The story engaging from the start until the end.

My Anguish Hero

Dark Lover, first time I saw you
I may cringe with your coldness
But even as ruthless as you are, still fascinated

Lover Eternal, next rendezvous with you
I startled in those split second you slipped your mask
Cruel and viscous yet there’s tenderness hidden, stupefied I was

Lover Awakened, when your story has been told
I loath over the torment and torture
Misty-eyed I cried until the last, captivated I become

And I dedicate my gratitude, dear Bella
For being the light when darkness come

Acheron : (one of) My Favorite Book

Here Is Review From GoodReads

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.
War has never been more deadly… or more fun.

My Review :

Finally, I finished this book and… WOW!!!

I love love love love Acheron. What’s not to love? I cried for him, I ache for him, I cringe for all the abusive things he got. From the first time sherrilyn kenyon mention acheron in the dark hunter series I instantly like him. But honestly I kind a sick with all the abusive part (geez, half the book!!!!). I made myself detached from the story (which I’m not usually do) , coz it’s so so so cruel.

Thx God after almost 300 hundred pages, it come to the present time. Tory character though not really loveable for me but still likeable. I didn’t like that she’s very judgement person, but I loved that she’s a honest and funny woman. I love the “hammer” part (totally hilarious).

I hate hate hate hate Artemis.. I swear I want to wring her neck. I’m not satisfied with her story in the end. Where is the karma?????!!!!!! I mean she’s very very very very very mean to acheron, but he’s not even give a little payback..aaarhhh (he is too perfect… too nice… to forgiveable…). And tory just give her a slap (not satisfied AT ALL).

My fave line :
Call me yours – Acheron
